Literacy ends poverty. Reading is where it all begins. Join us.

Loogootee Elementary

Our literacy program serves children in our low-income school who are labeled “at risk” in the area of reading. Our primary focus is on kindergarten through third grade students five days a week in 30 minutes sessions, and we target reading strategies with multiple authentic texts.

We strive to give our low SES (Supplemental Education Service) students authentic reading opportunities. Magazines are something they rarely get to experience at home, and providing these magazines will feed their appetite to learn.
